Essential Electrical System Coordination Study - North Florida Reception Center Ambulatory Surgical Center - Lake Butler, Florida:
Prepared and presented coordination study for AHCA approval of Emergency Generator for state of the art ambulatory surgical center located at a corrections facility.

UPS System Reliability and Maintainability Study - Range Operations and Control Center -
Cape Canaveral Air Force Station:

Investigated and provided recommendations for corrective action to improve reliability and maintainability of the UPS systems providing clean power to the control center responsible for the launch of unmanned, expendable launch vehicles at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

HOGGAR - Critical Power System Failure Analysis - Bahamas:
Investigated and provided recommended corrective action to address catastrophic failures of military tropo-scatter communication systems deployed throughout the Bahamas. Failures resulted from misapplication of UPS and surge suppression technologies and are presumed to have resulted from indirect lightning strikes in the vicinity of the facilities. Provided recommendations for corrective action to prevent the future damage.

Lightning Damage Assessment - Collier County WTP - Collier County, Florida:
Investigated, assessed damage, determined cause and recommended corrective action for lightning induced damage a West Florida Water Treatment Plant.

Lightning Damage Assessment - Pine Woods Elementary School - Pine Hills, Florida:
Investigated, assessed damage, determined cause and recommended corrective action for lightning induced damage to electronic systems at a Central Florida School.

Utility Switching Damage Assessment - Conserv II - Water Distribution Center - Orlando, Florida:
Investigated, assessed damage, determined cause and recommended corrective action for utility company switching induced damage to electrical power and electronic systems at a Central Florida reclaimed water distribution system.

Lighting Investigation - Osceola County Courthouse - Kissimmee, Florida:
Hired by Electrical Contractor to investigate and determine the cause of lighting problems that the project engineer of record was unable to resolve via conventional troubleshooting techniques. More than 300 compact flourescent downlights were dimming when side entry doors to the courthouse were opened. The engineer of record was requesting that all 300 + fixtures be replaced. Based on the results of the investigation it was determined that the fixtures were not defective and the change in lighting levels resulted from ceiling cavity overpressurization which caused air flow through the fixtures upon opening of the corridor doors. It was deterimined that air flow through the fixtures, prevented normal heat convection resulting in increased flourescent lamp temperatures which in turn caused a visible reduction in lamp lumen output. Once the air balance problem was corrected the lighting anomaly was resolved.

Grounding Study at Jonathan Dickinson
Missile Tracking Annex:

Investigated objectionable currents present in the facility's grounding system, on behalf of the U.S. Air Force. Identified the source of the objectionable ground currents and evaluated alternative corrective action plans. The study included an evaluation of potential electric-shock-voltage exposure to personnel.

Voltage Compatibility Study - Universal Studios Japan - Osaka, Japan:
Provided two weeks of on-site electrical engineering support investigating the compatibility of US products operating at reduced Japanese utilization voltage levels. The investigation included researching and analyzing all ride and show elements in the park. Provided executive summary report documenting the resolution or recommended corrective action for the investigated issues.

Grounding Study - Universal Studios Japan - Osaka, Japan: Provided two weeks of emergency on-site electrical engineering design and construction support and technical guidance related to powering and grounding parkwide Audio/Video systems and Ride Systems. Provided executive summary report documenting the resolution or recommended corrective action for the investigated issues. Prepared the proposal, negotiated the contract and was in route to Osaka, Japan within 16 hours of receiving the request for emergency services.

Review and Revision of Grounding Standard Practice Instructions (SPI's),
Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida:

Developed and wrote grounding design recommendations for Launch Base Support Facilities Design Engineers to clarify the National Electrical Code's intent regarding equipment ground systems' required ability to ensure freedom to personnel from dangerous electric-shock-voltage exposure and to provide current carrying capacity, both in magnitude and duration, adequate to accept the short circuit current permitted by the over current protection system without creating a fire or explosive hazard to a building or its contents.

Electrical Distribution Systems Studies,
Nurnberg, Germany:

Directed studies of low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems at military installation for the Corps of Engineers. Planned and directed the metering field investigation activities of a seven person, German-speaking project team. Performed complete system analyses to identify deficiencies and determine improvements for existing and future requirements. Prepared preliminary design and cost estimates for funding. The studies included demand/load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, and protective device coordination analyses.

Master Planning Electrical System Studies at Military Installation, Giessen and Wiesbaden, West Germany: Responsible for high and low voltage system analysis, deficiency identification, recommendation formulation, and the development and production of reports. The studies included demand/load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, and protective device coordination analyses.

Lightning Protection and Grounding System Deficiencies, Swofford Water Reclamation Facility,
Altamonte Springs, Florida:

Designed an indefinite quantity (per unit) project to test and correct grounding, lightning protection, and transient voltage surge suppression (TVSS) system deficiencies. Design included earth resistance testing, identification of lightning protection system upgrades necessary to meet NFPA 780, recommendations to correct identified deficiencies, installation of a staged TVSS system, and a problem solving guide to assist maintenance personnel in addressing grounding of sensitive electronic equipment. Provided design, bidding, and construction phase services.

Electrical Systems Studies for the Corps of Engineers: Analyzed electrical systems for over 1000 facilities at 17 military installations in the former West Germany (Nurnberg and Wiesbaden). The studies included demand/load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, and protective device coordination analyses and an I2t (short time) short circuit withstand rating analysis of equipment grounding conductors.

Reverse Osmosis Plant and Lift Station No. 7,
Venice, Florida:

Investigated electrical equipment damage at the City's RO plant and lift station No. 7. Identified grounding and lightning protection system deficiencies, and provided recommendations for further investigation and corrective action for identified deficiencies.

Total Energy Plant Load Study - Sugar Bay Plantation Resort, St. Thomas, V.I.:
Performed electrical metering and load study to investigate electrical anomalies associated with malfunctioning cogeneration/water desalination system.
